1. Must be a family- 3 or more people in the family, or a single parent with 1+ minor children. 
    • Unable to serve roommates/couples at this time.
  2. The primary applicant will need to fill out an application, and each co-applicant age 18+ will need to fill out the co-applicant application. 
  3. Must meet a minimum 15% of area median income AND at least one adult in the household employed.
  4. Must be literally homeless OR living in unsafe conditions (domestic violence, other abuse, living in a place not fit for habitation) OR in imminent danger of becoming homeless because the cost of current housing is unaffordable for the family OR couch surfing (no permanent bedrooms and living space) with friends or relatives OR family split between different locations due to size of family OR family is unable to afford adequate size housing.
  5. Must be willing to have 2-3 monthly meetings with the Case Manager to create goals and action steps, and progress toward the goal of acquiring stable housing outside of Ithaka. 
Eligibility for our program: 
General Information: 
  • Transitional housing provided for a period of one to three years as families work to overcome their individual barriers to secure housing outside of Ithaka.
  • The waitlist can vary depending on the family's situation and available housing at Ithaka. Must call every 30 days to stay on our waitlist once you are approved for the waitlist. Placement is based on chronological order and upon unit openings and family size.
  • Pets allowed on a case-by-case basis only and require an additional deposit and monthly pet fees.
  • Transitional Program fees are 30% of the family‚Äôs gross monthly household income; utilities & trash paid separately.
  • Applicants must disclose any prior criminal history, and we do work with those with criminal backgrounds.
